Black, White, Or Gray

American has always been called the land of the free. The land where everybody is treated equal as an American.  This is a true statement until you put race in the picture. Racism is discriminating against somebody for their skin color. In which racism can corrupt the law system of America. Sometime the spotlight of crime is showed on people of color, unlike their white counter part. I thinks it’s very  sad  that people let the person skin color  effects, how you treated them. We need to get pass the person skin color and know the true person.

Why HBCUs are needed

In the twenty-first century, historical black colleges’ and universities are still needed today. The UNFC said “While the 105 HBCUs represent just three percent of the nation’s institutions of higher learning, they graduate nearly 20 percent of African Americans who earn undergraduate degrees”  Many students are looking for higher education institutes to embrace their cultures in differences in society”. Most predominately white higher education place have misjudgment on African American. HBCU’s teaches African American how to have pride about their race and show enrichment black positive to envy. Also, many students will more African- American than the same slave stories. HBCU’s gives you a chance to bond with your fellow African American brothers and sister in respective setting.  The HBCUs Greek life has a deep and rich history in it. If a student decides to go through the process of becoming part of the brotherhood or sisterhood .The student will gain a lot of information and learn new things about him or herself in the process. In the quote from the article  ‘‘ Although called HBCUs, these 105 colleges and universities in the US support the education of all traditionally-marginalized groups – not just African-American and Hispanic/Latino(a), but any first-generation and/or low-wealth student who might not have a shot at higher education in another institution’’. HBCU schools give the student a sense of respect, honor and dignity in African American race and culture. The teaching valves of a HBCU are combining with education and spiritual growth. HBCU take their time to breakdown the information to student able to learn it. The spiritual side is the chapel most HBCU offer on their: Where students can feed their spiritual side by hearing a word from the preacher. HBCU have stood the test of time by many negative people with minds to destroy the colleges and universities. If HBCU are shut down and destroy by the government. The government will be killing a part of African American history in the process. HBCU are the cornerstones in this day of time for a good education than most predominately white higher education place. HBCU are key concepts to the African American education roots.
